PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Entrance-line healthcare staff at Temple University Clinic are strolling the picket line.
Organizers say Friday’s picketing is meant to provide focus to significant and persistent small-staffing within the hospital.
They say this hurts both equally individuals and caregivers.
“We want to show that they are not investing in their team, which we really feel is the most critical component of health care and we are inquiring them to appear to the table in bargaining in superior religion and regard the nurses and allied pros that are keeping this medical center up,” Mary Adamson, a RN at Temple Clinic that also serves as the president of the TUHNA, explained.
The unionized healthcare workers say their recent contract expires Sept 30.
At the middle of their negotiations are: excellent of treatment troubles like recruitment and retention, office violence avoidance, and means and protections for caregivers.
In accordance to them, above the past 3 decades, the hospital’s workforce has declined by 15% although its affected person intake has developed.
