Renault expects to make 300,000 fewer cars in 2022 due to global chip shortage

Feb. 18 (UPI) — French automarker Renault is asking at a manufacturing scarcity of about 300,000 automobiles this 12 months because of the worldwide shortage in semiconductor chips, the company’s leader government stated Friday.

Like nearly all automakers, Renault has been impacted by the global scarcity, which is associated with disruptions and laws prompted via the COVID-19 pandemic.
