IRS to ‘transition away’ from facial recognition for access to online system

Feb. 7 (UPI) — The Interior Earnings Service on Monday mentioned it will no longer use facial reputation tool as a requirement for taxpayers to get admission to their online money owed.

In an announcement Monday, the company said it’ll “transition away” from requiring taxpayers to take selfies and check their identities through ID.me — a 3rd-birthday party provider — following considerations about privacy and knowledge safety.
