CONCORD — A brush fire was burning in Concord Friday afternoon, threatening homes near Highway 4.
The two-alarm fire was burning vegetation near the Willow Pass Road exit off Highway 4 in the area of Evora Road. Cal Fire SCU said the fire had burned about five acres as of 12:30 p.m. and was about 50 percent contained.
Smoke was billowing over the immediate area and spreading, fueled by high winds Friday and dry conditions. A wind advisory was in effect for the area until 2 p.m.
