British central bank hikes interest rates for 2nd straight session; ECB takes no action

Feb. 3 (UPI) — Britain’s imperative bank narrowly voted to raise interest rates on Thursday — the first time it is performed so on two consecutive conferences in just about twenty years. The Ecu Union’s crucial bank, meanwhile, determined to go away rates by myself.

The Bank of England’s Monetary Policy Committee voted 5-4 to extend rates by 25 basis points, to 0.5%. The panel did the same on the bank’s closing assembly in December. The closing time it ordered rate hikes in back-to-again periods was once 2004.
